  • Steven P. Cuffe, M.D., FACPsych

    Principal Investigator

    Chair, Department of Psychiatry; Program Director, Psychiatry Residency

    Specializes in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; Psychiatry

    Dr. Cuffe is a board certified child & adolescent psychiatrist and is the chair of the department of psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. He has 20 years' experience in epidemiological studies and is the principal investigator of the project to Learn about Youth- Jacksonville (PLAY-JAX) study.

     

Rosita Almira, B.S.H. Research Assistant

Rosita is a research assistant helping with interviewing participants enrolled in the PLAY-JAX study. She has a Bachelors of Science in Health with a concentration on public health and a minor in health education. She is certified in youth mental health first aid by the National Council for Behavioral Health. She is also currently a Master of Public Health candidate at the University of North Florida.


Rebecca Glassman, M.P.H. Research Project Manager

Rebecca is responsible for the coordination and day-to-day management of the PLAY-JAX study. She received her Master of Public Health from the University of North Florida and has participated in poster presentations on mental health and youth. Rebecca is certified in youth mental health first aid by the National Council for Behavioral Health. In her spare time, Rebecca likes to travel to the North Carolina mountains with her family, including her 2 rescue dogs.


Calvin Jones, B.S.E. Research Assistant

Calvin assists the research team with scheduling and conducting interviews. He received his Bachelors of Science in Education from Florida Atlantic University. Currently, he is a Masters of Public Health Candidate at the University of North Florida. His hobbies include riding his bicycle, designing logos and listening to podcasts.


Faina Lacroix, B.S. Research Assistant

Faina Lacroix is a research assistant with the PLAY-JAX study. She obtained her degree in Biological Sciences from Florida Atlantic University. She is currently a Masters of Public Health candidate from the University of North Florida. Her interests lie in sexuality education as well as maternity and child health at a global level. In her spare time, Faina enjoys reading, cooking and listening to music.


Isabelle Michel, B.A. Research Assistant

Isabelle is a research assistant of the PLAY-JAX study. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and is a Master’s in Public Health candidate at the University of North Florida. One of Isabelle’s favorite public health interests are women and children’s health. In her spare time, Isabelle likes to volunteer at animal shelters and enjoys reading.


Halle Mitchell, B.S. Research Assistant


Jean Munnerlyn, B.A. Research Assistant

Jean assists the research team with conducting interviews. She has received a BA in Anthropology with a minor in public health at University of North Florida, where she is also currently a candidate for her Master’s in Public Health. Her hobbies include kayaking, cooking and reading.


Nicole Outler, B.A. Research Assistant

Nicole assists the research team with conducting interviews. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology with minors in music performance and health disparities in society from the University of Florida. Currently, she is a Master of Public Health candidate at the University of North Florida.


Christine Sellers, M.A. Research Assistant

Christine is a research assistant with the PLAY-JAX study. A native of Jacksonville, FL, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University, her Master of Arts from New York University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. She is certified in youth mental health first aid by the National Council for Behavioral Health and recently completed her one-year counselor internship at UNF’s Student Counseling Center. She is passionate about understanding and promoting mental health care in the Jacksonville community.

    Research Assistant

    Chief, Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery

    Specializes in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery

    Kiran is a Research Assistant helping in interviewing participants enrolled in the PLAY-JAX study. She received her medical degree from Katihar Medical College, India. She has worked in numerous research projects at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Boston. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, cook, listen to music and read books.

     

Wesley 'Luke' Taylor, M.D. Research Assistant

As a research assistant, Luke schedules and conducts interviews. He received his medical degree from American University of Integrative Sciences, Sint Maarten School of Medicine and his MBA focusing in healthcare management from Davenport University.
