About Michaela L Denison

Michaela Denison, MD, is an assistant professor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. She also serves as associate program director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. She graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2016. She completed residency and fellowship in general and child and adolescent psychiatry at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville in 2021. Dr. Denison was chief fellow and was awarded Fellow of the Year. She also received the Rosilie O. Saffos Award for Outstanding Resident Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Denison sees child and adolescent patients and their families at UF Health Psychiatry – San Jose. She also supervises general psychiatry residents and child psychiatry fellows in the outpatient setting. Dr. Denison serves as the clerkship director for fourth year medical students’ child psychiatry outpatient experience.

In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Denison trains pediatricians to identify mental health problems at the Center for Collaborative Care. She presented a workshop on identifying and treating depression in adolescents at the National Pediatric Academic Society conference in Denver.
