Psychosomatic Medicine – Jacksonville (PSY E 16J)
Students will be involved in the psychiatric assessment of medically ill hospitalized patients. They will work directly under the supervision of the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry. Objectives of the rotation are to learn to perform a thorough Psychiatric patient evaluation, formulate a comprehensive differential diagnosis, coordinate care with primary teams managing patients, and provide recommendations from a psychopharmacologic and therapeutic perspective to manage psychiatrically ill patients in the course of their medical care.
Outpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry – Jacksonville (PSY E 17J)
Students will be involved in the psychiatric evaluation and management of child and adolescent patients in the outpatient setting at UF Health Psychiatry-San Jose. They will work directly under the supervision of the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Students will see a variety of psychiatric diagnoses in the child and adolescent population, including Depression and Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Autism, OCD, Tourette’s Disorder, Disruptive Behavior Disorders, and occasional Bipolar Disorder and Psychotic disorders. Objectives of the rotation are to learn to perform a thorough psychiatric evaluation with child and adolescent patients and their families, formulate a biopsychosocial assessment and comprehensive differential diagnosis, and to provide recommendations addressing psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, family interventions, and school interventions.
